Unrecognizable

I see a figure – a woman:

Staring at me with her dark brown eyes

Round and full of despair and anger

Of confusion and fear and are cold as ice.

Her mouth is pulled into a frown

As if her lips are sewed together

And her jaws are clenched too tight

As if forbidding air to enter

Her complexion pale as the moon

Her cheeks stained by her tears

Her face ruined by desperation

To run away from her fears

I try and try to look away

But my eyes I cannot control

Her dark emotion I start to feel

As her stare penetrates my soul

I continue to look back at the woman

Her identity slowly becomes clearer

overwhelmed and wanting for her to disappear

I suddenly punch

– The mirror.
